South Africa: a country known by many for nothing but its struggle during the apartheid era, its overwhelmingly bizarre laws, its incredibly high amount of HIV/AIDs patients and its extremely high crime rates which have over the years given its lands the title of “The Crime Capital of The World”.
However, even in the darkest of places stars can be born and grow up to shine as bright as the sun. The artists of HonorLife Entertainment are a few of these stars. By combining all of their different styles, characteristics and life stories, they have created a rolling mass of thundering creativity. A mass which is taking over the ears, eyes and minds of Africa’s people, and people all around the world, faster than you may think.
Every single day tens of thousands of people are dying of diseases that are treatable, some even curable, simply because they can't get their hands on the medicine they need.
HonorLife Entertainment has now teamed up with Nike to raise money for Direct Relief. Direct Relief is an organization which provides medicine to people victimized by poverty, disaster, civil unrest and many other causes of illnesses. One bass hit shocks the air. The crowd arouses. The bass hits again. And again. Suddenly lights flicker up, DJ Hydro throws on the familiar uplifting beat and the artists of HonorLife come flowing onto the stage. The crowd goes berserk. By now the beat's hard hitting drums are already competing with the crowd's ear-deafening cheering. The crew walks up to the front of the stage and one of them steps forward. DJ Hydro turns the beat down and the crowd goes quiet. Then, a simple four word sentence starts off what is to come for the rest of the night: "Let's get this started."
